Accomplishments

Over the past four years, I have worked with parents, students, school board staff, and other trustees towards achieving these goals, amongst many other things, to improve education for our students.

A Foundation Of Trust

In 2018, I asked for your trust and your vote to become TDSB Trustee so I can focus on four priorities.

These four priorities were to:

  1. Improve Focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Education
  2. Improve Financial management of the Board
  3. Ensure the Safety of Our Students
  4. Improve Parent Engagement

Although there continues to be much work left to do, I am proud of the progress I was able to help the board achieve.

Improve Focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Education

Focused on improving student learning in STEM subjects through enhanced teacher training, introduction of additional classroom resources, and adoption of new educational curriculums.

Improve Financial Management of the Board

Concentrated and impactful changes require money, and it’s the school board’s job to make sure that money gets used in the best possible ways for our students. That is why one of my four focuses has been to maximize value for money spent in our school system.

Ensuring the Safety of Our Students

A safe learning environment is extremely important to me and all of my fellow trustees. This was especially true during the COVID-19 pandemic years. I am proud to say that the TDSB protected students throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and kept transmission rates in schools at a far lower level than in the community by following the science-based advice from public health experts.

Improve Parent Engagement

There is no better advocate for a child’s needs than a parent, it is the school board’s responsibility to listen to parents' voices and try to incorporate that perspective.
